I found the jacket secondhand for a decent price at a San Francisco vintage shop back in 1993. It was your basic cool black motorcycle jacket when I got it, but then I over-painted it violet. (Thus making it even more cool.) I wish to heck I could remember the brand of specialty leather paint I had to use, it was the BEST stuff.
