small steps
Feb. 19th, 2008 10:26 amDay 1: 30 minute walk.
After having been a total couch potato for at least the last six months, and after seeing some of the fat-girl candid photos of myself that Russ snapped over the weekend, I finally got out for a bit of exercise this morning.
Had to go downtown to pay the utility bill anyway, so I stopped in Big Springs Park and walked around the little pond and fountains there. It was really nice. Comfortable in sweats and a long sleeved t-shirt; some blue sky above. Goldfish in the water, ducks on the shore. (Have to ask Gwynne if her daughter Adara likes feeding duckies; I used to take Hannah out for that activity when she was little, even if instead of a nice park, our local pond with swans, ducks and geese was at a cemetery.)
Anyway, going to try to go take small walks regularly and hopefully gradually get back into the fitness habit again.
I should try to lose a lot of weight again too, but I don't want to get fixated on it.
However, I am going to say that I am going to lose at least 25 lbs over the next several months and get back to stay under 200 lbs--for my health if nothing else. I've noticed I've gotten to that "feel like crap and get sick all too easy" stage again and know my weight has something to do with it. Besides, I also need to lose the weight if I want to be sure that I am able to donate my body to science. Think of it as my "leave a good-looking corpse" diet. :/
While on this morbid tangent, I noticed a poster up at Bandito Burrito last night advertising a Zombie Prom (sponsored by World Conspiracy)in late April. Since I was in a funk and kind of blew off last Halloween, maybe I'll plan on that upcoming silly event.
