tattoo

Had another 4 and a half hour session on Saturday to finish up my tattoo. Parts of the piece are exquisite! And it is the design and the meaning I wanted. But I wonder if overall the colours aren't too muted, and I'm hoping the shading on the body mellows out some as it heals (I was thinking somewhat paler skin for a cadaver). It was a good tattoo experience though, nice folks, cool shop. Hannah went with me on Saturday and ended up getting her 8th tatoo--a Gemini symbol on her wrist for her birthday (which, incidentlally is today!) Oh, I got the two artists in the shop, Greg and Laura, to witness my signature on the Body Donor form; I'm ready now to actually send it off and register with UAB's anatomical gift program.

Even with Hannah and all my friends trying to bouy me up, this has been one of the longest, most miserable of weeks for me.

Walked for an hour on Sunday.

It wasn't a calorie deficit day, as Hannah and I were celebrating her birthday and went out to lunch at Olive Garden, but I did try to manage my portions anyway and did not binge.(Leftovers for lunch today!)

Remind me, there IS a difference between sharing a serving of Tiramisu (as a birthday dessert with my daughter) and sitting in the car, all alone, and scarfing down Little Debbie's snacks from the gas station convenience store....
