fangirling: Penelope
Aug. 7th, 2008 10:06 amCute fairy tale movie. I liked the costuming and visual style quite a bit. Can't argue with the "love yourself as you are" message, but the story was a bit juvenile and thin. Also, Christina Ricci's Penelope was way too cute with her pig's nose to cause all the supposed fuss of sending stupid suitors fleeing in terror. Nice supporting casting with Peter Dinklage as a reporter, Reese Witherspoon as a punky street messenger (loved her winged Vespa), and Nick Frost cameoing.
Ok, so I adored this funky coat....maybe I could sew up a reproduction for halloween (to be worn with a pig mask, duplicated from the movie's Halloween party scene, of course).
