vintage look

I think this is so sweet....I am considering this sort of vintage bust treatment on the summer dress I mentioned sewing. It's what's known as a shelf bust.

The fabric I have is also a novelty print, black background with froufrou cocktail drinks (in a variety of different shaped glassware, garnished with cherries and other fruit and such) shown in sparkling colours. Yummy. I bought the fabric back when I worked at JoAnn's... which was something like 9 years ago and I've never sewn it yet! Wouldn't it look glam and cute to have the upper bust section done in a champagne coloured satin or lace frothing out of the cotton "shelf"?
