Had a nice dinner over at Dan & Tina's after work yesterday. It was a group effort, I brought food and we all prepared it; a spinach lasagna to bake, Italian sausages to fry, and garlic bread. This was partly in return for them letting me use their washer to do my clothes; it's so much nicer spending time with friends than at the laundromat! Watched some amusing British comedy, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, which I had never seen before, reminded me a bit of some of the humor in Top Gear but thankfully without the cars...

Came home, read for a bit, and watched more TV, catching most of Gods & Monsters and then Different for Girls (a sweet little tranny romance from 1997) on Showtime.

Tuesday was a too hot and too busy rest day for me, but enjoyed my 5 miles this morning. The magnolia trees are blooming. So are roadside thistles. A butterfly landed on my arm...on one of my tattooed flowers.

Need to get ready now for another noon-nine day at the library.

From a Health blog http://www.thirdage.com :

"Bernadette Latson, assistant professor of clinical nutrition at University of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, says the best way to address stress, particularly for office workers, is to get away from the computer monitor and take a brief WALK or stretch break.

Incorporating stress-fighting foods into your daily diet can also help, Latson advises.

"A bowl of warm OATMEAL will boost a calming brain chemical known as serotonin, while foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids will help keep the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline in check," Latson, a registered dietitian, says in a statement."

And what if I ate an OATMEAL snack protein bar (My favorites are Kashi and Luna brands) while taking a WALK?

Oh, and I found this article helpful too: http://www.thirdage.com/personal-growth/how-to-get-out-of-a-slump Sounds like decent common sense advice!
