exercise notes and stuff
Jul. 14th, 2009 04:31 pm6.25 miles. (5.25 mile jog and another roundtrip mile walking to the store--and carrying back 16 lbs of catfood for my daughter's kitties.) There are some nice up and down hilly roads near my daughter's place; last year when I was just starting to get back into shape, they just about killed me-- this year, no sweat! Lol--well, maybe some sweat, but it felt good!
Currently doing laundry (mine and hers) at Hannah's apartment. I worked a half day this morning, and drove up to Hannah's after I left the library. I am now on vacation til next Tuesday! :)
Hannah is working a half day this afternoon and will be off at 6. Then, we are both driving to Cool Springs, where I will leave my car at the Saturn dealer for repairs.* Next, we're meeting my best Nashville friends Melinda and Lou for dinner. Then killing a little time at Starbucks and Barnes & Noble before meeting a couple of Hannah's friends in Nashville to go see the midnight opening show of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Tomorrow, Hannah and I are taking her car and driving to Illinois to visit family for a few days.
It's been a year since I've seen my parents. I think I'm in a much better mood for a visit this year than I was last-- which is a shame because last year my twin sister was there as well and I should have been so hyped to see her, but I just remember feeling glum.
*Yeah, my car needs the ignition work after all--I never know if I'll be able to start the car with one key turn or ten minutes worth of jiggling & cranking. Figured now was the best time to get it done and have it all fixed for when I need it for work. I'm really bummed that I had to bail out on friends and on my hopes for going to Dragon Con in September, but between tattoo splurges (guess that'll have to do for my "costuming" fix) and car costs, I'm not going to be able to afford it.
Speaking of tattoos, while my lovely new piece is still in the midst of the healing process, at least it isn't hurting and driving me nuts anymore!
