10.5 miles.
I'd thought to go on a Sierra Club hike at Monte Sano this morning, but I must have missed the group or not been at the right meeting place or something. But, since I was up at the state park and I'd paid my 3$ park fee, I went ahead and hit the trails by myself.
Whew! The muscles in my feet and legs say that was a workout! Did the Southern and Northern Plateau Loops and some of the Mountain Mist and Sinks trails, just kind of rambled all over for three and a quarter hours. Obviously, there were some hills and sometimes the terrain and trails were a little rocky and rough. I'm sure my pace varied a lot and towards the slow side. Temp was in the upper 80's but it was shady and cool in the woods. I'd taken a water bottle and a protein bar snack in my hip belt carrier; that was useful, but I think the bottle has a slow leak (or I was sweating where it was resting, as I ended up with a damp butt cheek).
All in all, a good morning's exercise.
