I am returning the one pair of trail shoes that didn't fit, and went and bought the pair from FleetFeet that did.

So, I'll now be doing my trail workout this weekend in the aptly named "Mountain Masochist".

Also tried on several pairs of other training shoes for road miles, but haven't made a purchase yet. I am so frustrated at the idea of spending another hundred bucks on shoes!! *sigh* I suppose I'll just wear my Newtons all the time for roadwork and races until they wear out, and put off this more shoes issue for another couple of months. I should be able to use the Newtons for the marathons in November and December anyway....

Oh, did I mention I went ahead and also registered for the local Rocket City Marathon (Dec. 12, 2009)? :)

While at Fleetfeet last night, I did the in store treadmill/video your gait "Fitlosophy" shoe consult; no surprise, I overpronate. Hmm...since reading "Born to Run" though, and wearing my Newtons so comfortably, I'm wondering if this is such a big deal?

65) Powell, Julie. JULIE & JULIA: MY YEAR OF COOKING DANGEROUSLY. NY, Little Brown: 2006

No, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think it will go on my Netflix list.

Yes, it did make me want to go cook something (but I think I'd be more inclined toward the Moosewood Cookbook rather than Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking.)

Made me feel glad about being a blogger.
