Headed out to do a 6 mile run this morning (on the Point Mallard trails) and did 8 miles instead. Feels good to feel good again!
(+2 miles walking back and forth between home and work today.)
Unfortunately, if it's not one thing (with my body), it's always something else. Am having another period with bad cramping. Hoping it's of a "normal" duration. I will be sooooooooo glad when I actually get to the *paused* status of menopause!
Got on the scales and checked my weight today. 143 lbs. Been hanging in around the same for the last two months or so. I am going to try to eat right and gradually drop back down -15 to get back in fighting (well, what I'm actually going for is improved pacing) trim. I will try to take the weight off slowly, maybe no more than -5 lbs/month, lose fat but keep muscle, and maybe I'll be able to keep it off then...
Hey, it's all relative....I may be feeling a bit slow and pudgy, but at least I am FIT, I can RUN, and I am NOWHERE near my heaviest weight of 230 lbs!
Got my Brooks shoes (Ebay $20) in the mail today. I like the obnoxious colour scheme of "mantis green, grape, and silver". They are in great shape; seem to fit reasonably well and I'm looking forward to giving them a test run tomorrow.
Have decided to register for and run the Rocket City Marathon (Dec 11)! It's local; and my friend Dana is already signed up for it! After running most of my recent 50K trail race all on my lonesome, I thought it would be nice to do a race with a larger field (1,500) and with friends! Even if Dana and I don't keep pace with one another the whole way, it'll be really good to have someone to talk training with for the next few months and to toe the starting line together. I'm psyched; and that will help keep me motivated not just for the marathon but for my ultra goals as well.
