Sunday and Monday stuff
Nov. 24th, 2014 02:17 pmMonday:
-Started to have cake for breakfast, but only ate two bites and put the rest back away.
-Took a short (just a mile) walk. Thought of the mantra: "Working It Out by Working Out"
-I'd taken my rings off while decorating cakes, but when I tried to put my engagement and wedding rings back on--I could not get them over the knuckle of my ring finger. Am now wearing them on my pinkie fingers.
-Worked on a sketch for a while, a caricature of Gaz. Not sure if I want it or the more realistic portrait as a tattoo?
-Found a recipe and decided that I'mm aking Sweet Potato Coconut soup for Thanksgiving. Yum.
-I'm glad its a short week at work.

Continuation:
-Walked 2.25 mile dring dinner break.
-Posted the above drawings to FB and the Sphynxlair forums; so far, everyone likes the realistic portrait better than the cartoon. However, I think Greg could do a killer job on the cartoon cat tat.
Sunday recap:
I really did have a nice time going to the race on Sunday with my friends. Mona and I shared a room the night before and she gave me a good peptalk and made me promise to actually run again next year with them. It meant a lot to me to have her say, "Don't beat yourself up, Heather; You're one of us." I also enjoyed spending time with Lee, Graham and Madison; they are all good guys! I spent most of my time on Sunday helping out at the finish line food tables, but did sneakoff for an hour's walk on the course. (Ugghh--could really tell I hadn't done any hill work in a while!) That gave me the chance to see some of the folks during the race--otherwise I would have missed getting to say hello to Diane, Benji, Valerie and others. I did feel a little bit like a poseur when racers would call out "looking good"-- maybe thinking I was actually in the race, but on the other hand, it was uplifting that nobody thought that I COULDN'T be in the race. Met some new ladies volunteering; it was nice swapping running stories, and they seemed impressed with my ultras. Yes, it rained; not continuously, but enough to get wet and be annoying. Yes, the cake turned out well and was enjoyed; hope the leftovers didn't go to waste. There was a gaggle of kids running around and hanging around the food; one suggested we put "those monkey poop cookies" (some very runny brownie patties) next to the cake monkey's butt, and another kept "petting" the monkey through the saran-wrap. Silly children. :) Even without having run the marathon, I came home tired and went to bed early.
