My friend  [livejournal.com profile] kiwihunter8 posted about a jointed teddy bear kit she recently got. Both she and I are doing plushie projects of sorts right now. Likw Kiwi, I too tend to like to work larger rather than with miniatures. (Although I have seem some very nice small felted works) Have also thought about exploring jointed dolls to make my dolls somewhat movable/posable, but I think I have bitten off enough without adding that to my current sphynx doll project.

Speaking of jointed dollls: sphynxthumb these Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD) are really nice, really tiny (5cm) and really pricey! From: http://pets.evethecat.com/cats/

In reply to her comment on being intrigued by Reborns,  while I'm eager to try the painting techniques,  I really have zero interest in the human baby dolls, just the animals. Speaking of which, I have seen some Reborn babies painted with anthropomorphic faces--I'll bet someone with a "furry" back ground could do a much better job....

Another photo of Gaz by the antique sewing machine, notice the gold decal details on the Singer. We have a Sphynx looking at a sphinx!

Or what I've been doing at work....

One display case holds a collection of SNOWGLOBES, lent by several staff members. Alas, my big inflatable snowglobe got nixed. It looked really cool, but needed to be plugged in (to keep inflated and snow blowing)  and the motor noise was deemed too distracting inside the library.  I'm going to give it to my grandsons...

The other display case was for HOLIDAY VILLAGE scenes. The library had some miniatures, another staff member brought in alot of her own collection, and I fabricated the faux gingerbread replica of the library building. (Lol....one box of display items was labeled "Village People"; I was disappointed not to find  "Macho Men in YMCA poses".)

Here's a few extra shots of the "GINGERBREAD LIBRARY".  Wow, we  have a weird shaped building! I like the candycane sculpture better than the actual abstract modern art piece we have on the library lawn. This took me entirely too much money and time to throw together, but I did have fun doing it.
