Finished "juniper" tree

11" tall. Tinted the bottles green. I like bonsai pots, but this tree peched on a "rock" works well too for small trees.
Got the shipment of liquor bottles. They are a bit bigger (about 4" in height) than I thought, so it is going to have to be a good-sized sturdy tree. (may even start out with a solid real branch as the trunk; guess I'll have to go up to the monutain and look for someting if nothing in the yard will work) Am considering trying a hanging bottle design instead of putting the bottles down over the branches.
Also picked up a couple containers at a local thrift store that may well end up with bonsai in them. One is a brightly painted tall ceramic pot, and thinking that needs a cascade style tree and maybe will incorporate some ribbon flowers as well as bottles. Another is a cut glass bowl in blue, of course it will get a blue bottle tree.

Am also continuing my dollmaking. Finally got over procrastinating and have started on her face, and will post pics of Suzie-Rose after I finish her up (Hopefully Tonight!)
And have been getting things together for Paisley. The above pic shows some patchwork blocks I did and a lace applique that will also be worked in. (Paisley will be even more highly embellished than Suzie-Rose!) The block is one of my favorite patchwork designs, "Monkey Wrench" but I call it "Swirling Paisleys". It was actually doing a Monkey Wrench block for a community quilt project, and seeing as how it reminded me of paisley shapes, that was one of the inspirations for the patchwork doll.
between trees and dolls, i have enough to keep me creatively busy!
