Since B had picked up some more wire from Home Depot for me, I spent about an hour and half this morning (before work) shaping up another simple bottle bonsai.  It's just the wire skeleton so far, haven't stated taping it or building up trunk and branches. Will use up most of my left over small bottles, so it's a mixed combination of pink, blue, green, and clear bottles. Going to set it in the cut glass dish from my last thrift store round. I have enough supplies to do this project, but will need more wire and clay after that.  I am still not real good on figuring out/guessing how much wire it takes!

Also received my recent bottle lot orders, so got those washed out and cleaned up last night. Between the left over perfume and acetone--Wheweee!!!

The tree using the liquor bottles is going to take some planning, so will probably put that one on the back burner for a while (as I want to concentrate on doing my next doll project first). I think it's going to need to be about the same scale as my mimosa tree-- so larger and taller, at least 24", if I'm going to make it a  bonsai with hanging bottles. I like that idea, because of leaving the labels on the bottles and so want to orient them upright. Haven't decided if I am going ot hang them with cord, or in wire spiral/cages. Want to keep this one kind of rugged looking, not as dainty finished as some of the others or as the semi cascade tree I have planned for the tall pot.

Considering, after I finish up about a half dozen bonsai creations, getting a table at the Flying Monkey Artists' Market and seeing what the response to them there is. (Mimosa is a showpiece and NOT for sale, but the smaller ones would be.

bonsai ideas and in progress:
--mixed colors (this is another of the simpler smaller scale trees)
--semi cascade (in thrift store pot with ribbon flowers, proabably will use some of my new/renewed stash clear glass bottles)
--liquor bottles in hanging tree
-- have a growing collection of  somewhat larger or heavier bottles (say about 4-6" size") that I may do up in more of a Southern yard art design than realistic bonsai) or a friend has offered to help me solder a framework if I want to make them into a  hanging chandelier.

Other creative notes:

Lowe Mill is hosting a  David Bowie memorial event on the 23rd;  I may throw together a costume for that--probably a mash up of Bowie-esque fashions. maybe  a Jareth-theGoblinKIng  (from Labyrinth) wig I have, but with ziggy stardust  or white face blue eyes Life on Mars makeup.

Bonsai sales are still a ways off, but am also pondering taking my ribbon work and heart shaped boxes the next couple weeks (could do it  on Saturday Jan 16, 30,maybe the Feb 6th before Valentines Day). gain. probably more of a social show off sort of thing and maybe make a sale or two of ribbon work flower corsages.

Going to do up at least one more "Paisley Swirl" patchwork block, using some of  the deeper jewel tone fabrics. I've done blocks in bright colors, with yellows and red, but need to do one with purples and blues or greens. I'm thinking that will be about it for the geometric blocks, the others will be more curved seam crazy piecing.  Looks like Kona cotton has some flesh tone fabrics, but all I've seen in Hancock's and JOann's is a too pink peach, so may have to order online from a doll making site. Just need enough for head & neck, feet and hands, as the rest of the body will be patchworked.
