Latest bottle bonsai tree with ribbon work foliage and blossoms. I'm really pleased with how this one turned out.


Outfit for Bowie tribute event. I always have fun with the details, even if not too many others "get" them. Did collect a few compliments, but mostly for my glossy red Krylon painted boots. Wish they had done more DJing and less kareoke at the event; i'd rather hear Bowie sing. I also would have liked to see more guys glamming it up; it was mosly gals who did the dress up thing. However, the Bowie makeup/facepainting table was doing a brisk business with a long line waiting.


Laying out fabric for crazt quilt Paisley doll (body front). (hmm. maybe her name should be "Paizley" and not just paisley.) I think before I do any other pattern-piece layouts, I  first need to sew up a few more of the "Paisley Swirl" blocks. It worked well  using the pieced square and then building outwards from that in crazy patchwork. I also like how the patchwork block worked nicely next to the large paisley print (with the curving shapes in it), going to be sure to use more of that fabric in the overall design.
