race results and a reprimand

Lol....I am really getting tired of racing in the rain!* It was another drowned rat run on Saturday. Rained fairly steady for most of the race, running water and standing water on some of the course. Wet shoes and saggy sopped clothing. A couple new blisters to go with my new tshirt.

:) Yes, I had fun! My pace was even slightly faster than at the last race I did! I'll admit though, I was fairly well wiped by the finish line; for me, it was an effort.

*for which, maybe, I set myself a tough precedent by running the 12 hour Delano Park Run last March in the rain; kinda feel like I can't be a wuss over the weather with shorter distances. :)

I didn't get any one single "long" workout in for the week, but between the (fast) race on Saturday and 12 (slow) miles on Sunday--that's a back to back weekend for 22.5 miles. So, my over all mileage for the week, 44.25 miles, was about the same as the previous week's total.

M 3 mile walk/2 mile walk

Current weight: 125.8 lb.

Some of my friends and family are concerned about my weight dropping. (Actually, it's back up slightly at this week's weigh in, but overall trends) My daughter, my sister, my best friend (and the random library patron last week who commented on my weight loss and asked if it was intentional and if I was all right.) Hannah threatened to buy a case of Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies and stock my house if I lost any more weight, and she thinks I should gain some back at his point.

I'm going to have a little extra money in a few weeks, maybe I should use some of it for an appointment with a doctor/nutritionist/personal trainer? Allow everyone, myself included, to feel better about my current and ongoing health and fitness plans?

I think your weight loss is normal for the amount of exercise you have been getting. Plus, you are eating healthier, so that goes with it. As long as you keep eating healthy, and eat as much as your should, I see no reason for people to be concerned. If you were starving yourself and stuff, then it would be different.

I guess the point is that they are concerned that I may not be eating as much as I should. No, I'm not starving myself, but maybe I am being too restrictive about calories--like I said, I keep saying I've lost enough and just want to maintain, but then I keep losing. I just haven't quite gotten a handle on what/how much to eat for what (still increasing)level of training and exercising I'm doing?
It'll make boring reading on lj, but maybe I'll start posting my food logs; so I can see just how I am eating.

I have heard that you should eat as many calories that you weigh. Like if you weigh 150lbs and want to maintain that weight, then eat 1500 calories every day, and so on. But, that might be wrong. Just what I heard.

I don't find it boring. It's actually inspiring to me to see what you are doing, so I could help myself and get control of my weight gaining.

i agree with ryokara....it's not like you're starving yourself and on the verge of anorexia....you are eating better and exercising....
as long as you feel ok i don't think there's a problem...although you were talking about some chest pain before weren't you?
if you can i would schedule an appt with a doctor...not a nutritionist or a personal trainer...tell them about the weight loss and all your exercise..and the chest pains...let him/her determine what you should do different if anything...i think you are just getting healthy and people should just accept that and let you do what you feel well enough to do and if you are happy and healthy with your new size enjoy it...i for one am envious of the will power and keep at it that you've been doing...i think you are doing great...

I cut back on the coffee and the chest pain seems to have mostly gone away--guess I was just giving myself the caffiene jitters and am going to have to watch the Starbucks inhalation. But, yeah, wouldn't hurt to still mention it to a doctor.
