Got back from doing laundry a while ago. Waaahhh...I miss the convenience of having my own washer and dryer! First I went to the complex laundry room, but it was locked up with a new padlock--have to ask the office what is going on with that. So drove down to the Mexican laundromat and market on the corner of Drake and Triana. At least the machines and dryers there were all in good working order; cost me 6$ to wash and dry two loads. Need to remember to add that into the household budget again.
Just finished making up my first batch of modeling chocolate (it's just a mix of melted chocolate and corn syrup which stiffens to about a tootsie roll consistency). While that is setting up for a few hours, I'm going to go find my oil based art clay to play around with. I want to figure out how to best make my flower decorations before messing with the edible clay.
I did get to Hobby Lobby yesterday; bought more Wilton food color and two new round cake pans in different sizes. I still need to write up a grocery shopping list of cake and frosting ingredients, but that can wait as I'm not actually going to bake until closer to the time needed. (The chocolate flowers, however, can be made in advance and stored.)
