I'm working Sat-Sun, so I had today off from work at the library.

Slept in til 10 am. LAZY BUTT.

12 mile run. Not quite so lazy butt, but I should have done a few more miles; didn't have time before lunch plans.

Met Kara for lunch at IHOP. Good to see you [livejournal.com profile] larthan! Yummy Piggy lunch of pancakes with apples (no calorie deficit today).

Went thrift store browsing. Sale jeans, sweater and a prom dress for under 20$. I've been eyeing this dress for a while...light yellow froufrou (in vanity size 5-6)...perfect to be deconstructed, overdyed and resurrected if I decide to do my pastel zombie costume.

Kinda surprised myself the other day; stretching before the mirror, I could see my ribcage. (this is me, today, arm raised to stretch, but not sucking in my breath)

Then, I found this pic online and loved how it reminded me of Dia De Los Meurtos calaveras. However, at the same time, it's disturbing as a portrait of an anorexic. look )

BOOK #58

58) Samson, Lisa. EMBRACE ME. Thomas Nelson: 2007.

You know that Inspirational Fiction novel I almost bought last week, and then sneered at? Well, I went back to Books A Million and bought it and read it. And am happy I did.

Told in two voices, that of a sideshow "lizard woman" and a self-mutilating preacher, this novel charts lives, hearts, souls "edging precariously close to disaster . . . and improbably close to grace".

Ironic, most of the Amazon.com reviews point out that how wonderful this book is even with it's strange characters and topics, going places where "few Christian books dare to go." And I of course see first the alternative elements as the obvious interest, and then have to acknowledge the message of sincere faith nicely told.
