Costume notes:

heheh..the costume actually wasn't all that bad to run in! I had sewn loops to the underside of the skirt, so I could hoist it up and hold it above my feet. Some of the guts were a little long, but I just looped them around.(fyi- the small intestines were sewn and stuffed tubes of pink taffeta; the large intestine was ruffled green satin.)The bodice was snug but didn't restrict my breathing or chafe anywhere. It was cool enough that wearing the wig wasn't uncomfortable. I'm just glad the overnight rain quit in time on Saturday morning-- I was worried about my makeup and blood running!

I sure wish I had a pic of me actually jogging in the race!

BTW, no, I'm not planning to run any long races in this get up, but I did I get myself some fashionable running appearal to wear for the marathon. :)

This pic is when I went "trick or treating" at the library after the race; I'd promised I'd come in to show off my costume and to say "Hey!" to my coworkers who had also dressed up for work on Halloween. (waves to Laura and [livejournal.com profile] capt_peyton)

66)Browne, Scott G. BREATHERS: A ZOMBIE'S LAMENT. Broadway Books: 2009.

Publisher's Weekly review:
Browne's black comedy debut brilliantly reinvents zombie culture for the 21st century. When Andy and his fellow zombies—notably Rita, a sexy suicide victim with a lipstick fetish, learn why they're so driven to consume human flesh, the repercussions are both tragic and hilarious. Browne neatly mixes humor and extreme violence with a surprisingly tender love story, some witty social satire and an extremely strong narrative voice.
