random silliness for slow fat athletes:

Moving At The Speed Of Sloth

Sloths Take Time To Smell The Algae

Slow Is Still A Pace; Last Is Still A Place

Ultra Means BIG

They Don't Call It A Fat Ass Run For Nothing!

If You Can't Be Fast, Might As Well Be Flashy!

If I repeat things enough...will I eventually get them through my thick head?
Behavior-Centered Health is a health practice in which healthy choices and behaviors are the goal, not a particular size, weight, or shape. Health at Every Size is: 1.Accepting and respecting the diversity of body shapes and sizes. 2.Recognizing that health and well-being are multi-dimensional and that they include physical, social, spiritual, occupational, emotional, and intellectual aspects. 3.Promoting all aspects of health and well-being for people of all sizes.
4.Promoting eating in a manner which balances individual nutritional needs, hunger, satiety, appetite, and pleasure. 5.Promoting individually appropriate, enjoyable, life-enhancing physical activity, rather than exercise that is focused on a goal of weight loss.

later update: After eating (and overeating) mostly junk food on my vacation, it's amazing how satisfying a healthy meal can be. :/ Our library director brought in a Mardi Gras lunch for staff today. I thoroughly enjoyed a crisp veggie filled salad and a serving of red beans and rice. I picked around the sausage cooked with the beans and sucessfully avoided the King cake. The food (and a short break from the reference desk) perked me up and took the edge off an incipient case of public service grouchiness!
