Sad day; one of my dearest oldest friends died (and my dad sent me the obit).

Brent was only a year older than I am; I wonder what happened?

We met when I was in 5th grade or so, were close friends in High School (when he wasn't driving me crazy), managed to stay in touch through most of the passing years. Even my father mentioned that Brent had been one of those friends who was "part of the family".

So, I'll remember late night noshes at IHOP. Going to see one of my first R rated movies, THE EXORCIST, with him and his mother. A gawd-awful Homecoming corsage of fall mums my freshman year; ok, so Brent was my first boyfriend...sort of. :) Games of CLUE around the dining room table.

Damn tho, when was the last time I actually talked to him?

Kind of pissed me off too, there was no mention in the obit about his decades long enduring relationship with his partner.
