library hmmmm....
Jul. 9th, 2009 08:59 amSo, along with our 20+ PCs for public use, we now have 2 Macs. The Macs are for a grant we got, to provide Skype technology for Military families to be able to contact their relatives stationed overseas in the armed services. Sounds all good and noble in theory.
Except, that means that while most social chat programs are banned on most computers in the library, that's the purpose here. And Webcam and audio/phone too. Thus my hmmmm....wonder how long before the general public clues into this availability?
Also, I can't remember the last time I used a Mac; but our department has some remedial training scheduled today.
random odd titles in our collection:
Horsemen of the Esophagus (nonfiction about championship eating competitions; one of this month's book displays is Topic: Strange and Unusual)
Tall Blondes (nonfic about giraffes)
The Nutmeg of the Consolation (fiction, Patrick O'Brian seafaring adventure)
Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove (or most any other novel by Chrisopher Moore)
